As a teen, I discovered art books devoted to 18th and 19th century landscapes. The paintings portrayed revealed a depth and realism that fascinated me, and I often imagined stepping into them. Now as an artist, I’m exploring an opposing concept: what’s here, not there, what’s now, not in the distance. My subjects are often life-size touchable components that reach out and strive for existence in our 3 dimensional world.
